CHAPTER 01

A contractor’s question

Contractors carry years of practical knowledge. Their prices, though, sit in old quotations, spreadsheets, supplier files, ERP exports, emails and in the heads of the people who priced the last job. We wanted to make that knowledge reusable.

CHAPTER 02

The data was missing

To say anything useful about a price, you need to know exactly what was priced: the item, the description, the unit, the quantity. That structure did not exist in one place.

CHAPTER 03

So we went to the architect

Architects write the specification and the bill of quantities. They send the tender, contractors fill it in, and prices come back. It is the place where structured construction information and real prices meet. We spent several years building that workflow, together with architecture firms.

CHAPTER 04

Back to the original question

Today Calqi connects both sides of the tender. With structured projects, a growing network and real pricing history, we could return to where we started: helping contractors turn what they already know into a head start on the next offer.
